Sixteen members and guests recently joined me on another great Mount Lawley Golf Club golf trip visiting the newest Mission Hills Golf Club located on the tropical Hainan Island off the south coast of China.
Some great golf was played on four truly exceptional golf courses (there are 10 courses in total) especially by members Kon Sarris, Steve Beech and the ultimate winner for the week Scott Bulloch. Two of the courses chosen recently held tour events – Lava Fields and Blackstone which recently won best course in Asia at the Asian PGA Show. Whenever I organise golf trips I always try and book the best courses and this trip was definitely no exception. The hotel at Mission Hills was a 5 star resort that had a great breakfast and lots of dining options (which was important considering some of the eating out venues in the nearby city of Haikou – think chicken’s head soup!). Mission Hills is also famous for its hotsprings and spa treatments – a couple of members reported their after golf massages as the best massage ever!
I would like to express a big thank you to everyone who came on this trip and also to club member/travel agent Doug Harman for all his hard work, a tremendous amount of work goes into organizing these golf trips and I’m sure everyone had a great time.
