The weekend saw the playing of our final 36 hole honour board event of 2014, The Founders Cup sponsored by Mark Anthony Design and club member Mark Sertorio. This event is a 36 hole stableford competition combining scores from Saturday and Sunday. The Founders Cup has been played for since 1935 when it was introduced to recognise the completion of Mount Lawley as an 18 hole course. Playing conditions were ideal for the 96 participants despite the spike in temperature on Sunday as we reached 38 degrees on course during the afternoon round.
The overall winner of the Founders Cup for 2014 was Chris Flamer with a two round total of 78 stableford points with individual rounds of 41 and 37 points. Chris finished 2 points clear of Kim Evans and 3 points clear of Brian Orr who rounded out the top 3.
