The greatest Major golf event of them all is on this week at the “Home of Golf” St Andrews, the Open Championship. A course where strategy and being able to master the conditions will generally produce “the champion golfer of the year”!
With its massive greens (some are even double greens, the holes that share greens added together equal 18 eg; holes 2 and 16) that are protected by some unbelievable bunkers, it is important to approach the green from the correct side of the fairway. The greens at St Andrews have subtle slopes and that is where a number of the Professionals and caddies who have studied Aimpoint can have an advantage over the rest of the field. Whether you’re a professional golfer, caddie, junior, or amateur golfer, AimPoint Green Reading will transform your game by teaching you the one aspect of putting which is never taught…exactly where to aim! A reminder to all members I have organised a Aimpoint Clinic to be held on Saturday 25th July at the Club with a few spots available so please contact the Golf Shop to book your place and get trained on how to truly read greens!
For those of us who have played St Andrews Old Course it is always great to watch the world’s best players take on the course in the Open Championship.
