Whenever you swing a heavier object in a known motor pattern your body is not capable of moving at the same speed, you will always move slower than normal in that motion.
This is training the body to get used to swinging slower during the golf swing pattern.
This can produce swing speeds up to 30% slower, to increase swing speed you must get the body move fast with lighter objects then gradually increase weight to solidify a faster movement with the same motor pattern.
