Mount Lawley Trainee Professional, John Boulton started his 2019 playing year in sensational style. Playing in the first Trainee match of the year, he started strongly at Sea View GC, making birdie on his first two holes before hitting a few submerged logs over the middle part of his round. With three holes to play, he had dropped to three over par but a sensational birdie, eagle, birdie finish, saw him sign for a 1 under par, 71. The eagle, was a slam dunk hole in one at Sea View’s challenging 17th hole. That was John’s third career hole in one! His score saw him finish in second place for the day, one stroke behind Jo Ha from Royal Perth.
John did win one event on the day. He teamed with Peter Maidment in the annual Trainee & Boss 4BBB event. They posted a score of 45 points to win by one from the team from Royal Perth.
