Over the course of the weekend Members will notice the introduction of new scorecards for competitions. We have recently replaced the Autoscore Card Readers, and score cards with a new, improved system from MiScore.
At present we are running with a generic score card, while we finalise the artwork for our finished product, but we hope members will enjoy the more traditional scorecard offered through MiScore. The new shaped scorecard obviously requires new score card holders, which will arrive and be distributed to members in due course.
With regard to using the scorecards there are not many notable changes, members still are required to record scores numerically, and also mark the correct score with a clear ●. This can be done in pencil or black or blue pen only. In order for the scanner to pick up scores effectively, the ● needs to be clear and precise. In difference to the AutoScore card, if you take more than 10 strokes on a hole in a stroke event, you are required to mark both digits. For example, if you take 12 strokes you will mark the 10 and the 2 field with ●.
When processing your card through the reader the process is far easier, and the readers far less temperamental! Simply place your card in the top of the reader and it will automatically feed through. Of course, Shop Staff & the Match Committee will be on hand to assist you when processing during this introductory phase, so do not fear. Thank you & happy golfing!
