The Mount Lawley Junior Open was played last Friday and, for the second year running, saw a playoff for the boys’ championship. Excitement built as players came in to have their cards checked and it was discovered that there would be a six-way playoff in the boys’ section after the boys had each carded a 2-over 74. The girls were not to be outdone as it was discovered there would be a two-way playoff for the girls’ championship after Mount Lawley juniors Erina Tan and Alysha Ahnantakrishnan has both posted 2-over rounds of 76. The players in both playoffs were followed by good-sized crowds who watched ten-year-old Erina take out the Girls’ Open championship after sinking a 20-foot putt for par on the first playoff hole (the 10th). The boys’ champion took a little longer to decide with four holes needing to be played before Tyce Robinson from Royal Perth defeated our own Jordan Doull.

Mount Lawley juniors played very well on the day with a number of them winning trophies. Ken Gao won the Open Boys’ Nett Championship and Amanda Gan, Ruby Fry, Alysha Ahnantakrishnan, Eve Cohen, Abby Pritchard, Jordan Doull,  Terry Hatzis, Brayden Jones and Gagan Dhaliwal also won trophies.

Many thank you to the Staff and Volunteers plus Junior Coordinators for making this day the success it was!
