When fitting irons it is important to fit the correct shaft and lie angle – fitting the correct shaft to your swing can add distance, improve consistency and help achieve the correct ball flight.
When fitting drivers the correct shaft and loft will help to add distance and help you hit more fairways. It is a common misconception that a lower lofted driver will hit the ball further, it is vitally important that you are fitted for the correct loft for “YOUR” swingspeed.
To help give members an even better experience when purchasing equipment Duncan has recently purchased a Flightscope Dopplar Radar unit, whilst this is primarily used in providing world class tuition to members it also helps to guide and then confirm the clubfitting process ensuring that your fitted clubs do improve your golf shots.
Below are some screen shots from a recent club member’s clubfitting session. The shots in yellow are with the members own clubs the shots in blue are with a correctly fitted Mizuno iron. Some details that show improvement are the consistency of ballflight
- The Mizuno iron flew an average of 143.1 meters compared to his club’s 136.4 meters
- The Mizuno flew an average of 25.3 meters high compared to 22.8 meters.
- The Mizuno iron had a lateral deviation of only 5 meters compared to 12 meters.
- The speed profile graph below shows a much more consistent performance from the Mizuno iron and a good kick in acceleration of the clubhead via a correctly fitted shaft just prior to impact.
