Improving your putting is the quickest way to improve your score and reduce your handicap. Some keys to improving your putting include

  • Set up to the putt in a comfortable position with your eyes over the ball
  • Ensure your putter fits you correctly for length and lie angle (visit the golf shop for advice from any of the Golf Professional Staff)
  • Hit all putts with an accelerating stroke – a quick tip is to ensure your backswing and follow through are the same length
  • Keep your wrists passive throughout the stroke

Putt on the correct plane with a square club face to ensure you roll the ball correctly – one of the the best teaching aides to help this is the Edge Putting Rail (See Picture)

These quick tips can help you make more putts but the best way to improve is to book a dedicated putting lesson with me, this can be done by visiting the coaching section of the website or contacting the Golf Shop on 9271 4033.
