Do you slice?
Slicing is the most common issue golfers come to me with and the most common fault in golf, not only does a slice affect your accuracy in hitting fairways and greens but it also significantly influences the distance you can hit the ball.
The reason you slice is at impact your clubface is open relative to the direction you are swinging in this causes the ball to spin on a tilted axis and slice away to the right. An open clubface can occur at the start of your swing (poor grip or poor clubface alignment), in your backswing (see below) or in your downswing (see below)
In the examples below the swing on top is before some improvements and shows a slightly open clubface at the top of the backswing, the swing below that shows a squarer clubface via an improved grip and better wrist action. The picture to the right shows an open clubface during the downswing (you can see the clubface looking at the back of the players head, the swing below that shows the clubface in a much squarer position (clubface is “looking away” from the player).
If you suffer from a slice book a Flightscope lesson now to REALLY understand your swing and just as importantly track your improvement.
