Next week I have another great golf trip planned for the members of Mount Lawley departing for Mission Hills in China. These popular trips are a great way for members to not only play some great golf courses, stay at luxurious accommodation but also to make great new friendships with other members. These trips have also led to some new golf courses in Asia joining Mount Lawley as reciprocal clubs giving members the opportunity to play these courses at greatly reduced prices.
A few tips for members who are travelling with golf clubs on my trip but also on your own golf trips are listed below; (please contact me if you need any assistance with travel plans to golfing in Asia)
- Invest in a lightweight carry golf bag and good quality travel cover to help protect your clubs
- Wrap your iron heads in your golf towel to protect them during the flight
- A new product to the market is the Golf Travel Stiff Arm – this sits inside your golf bag and helps
- Look at weather forecasts for your destination and ensure you have wet gear, umbrellas etc
- Noise cancelling headphones are great for long plane flights
- Drink plenty of fluids on the flight (water)
- Invest in new grips for your clubs (grip master leather grips) to ensure your clubs feel like new
The most important thing is to enjoy the fact that you are in a different country with different customs, food, attractions and are playing golf on some great new golf courses.
