Junior Scholarships

Introduction

Mount Lawley Golf Club has a long history of supporting Junior golf and has been awarding scholarships to Junior golfers for over 10 years. The club currently awards 4 scholarships worth approximately $1000 each to MLGC Juniors. These “full scholarships assist the winners with their membership fees, instruction with the MLGC professional teaching staff and equipment. The scholarships are greatly appreciated by their winners and parents. 

Additionally the club awards MYGolf Membership Scholarships to regular clinic and MYGolf Monthly attendees which pay their membership fees for a year. 

MLGC Scholarships Selection Guidelines

Candidates must be under the age of 18 as at the 1st of January for the awarded year, and a financial member of the club for the duration of the awarded year to receive the full scholarship.

Candidates may be proposed by any officer of the club, professional staff or Junior Coordinators.

The scholarship selection committee will consist of the Junior Coordinator/s and the Director of Junior Golf at MLGC. The Scholarship Committee selections must be ratified the by the Board prior to publication.

A weighted scorecard should be used to assist in the assessment of candidates. It is aimed at providing a fair “score” for each candidate that reflects their worthiness across a number of criteria that are important to the Mount Lawley Golf Club, these include Skill, Potential, Aptitude, Attitude, Conduct, Need and Contribution.

MYGolf Membership Scholarship Selection Guidelines

Candidates must be non-members and have regularly attend MLGC coaching clinics and MYGolf Monthly on-course outings for at least one year. These may be awarded by the Junior Coordinator.
